Therefore, training your staffs before installation is the key to making your system gradually become proficient at even the most advanced capabilities.

Incompatible hardware

Many companies when choosing a new point of sale platform to implement forget that it is not a stand-alone mechanism. In fact, to perform smoothly and efficiently, it needs to interface with hardware that you currently own. If you don’t choose a system that is compatible with your hardware, setup can be very costly and frustrating. Shortly, do not assume that anything will work without confirmation from your sales representative.

Skipping the reference check

It’s better to ask for references than selecting based on a POS system’s website or brochure. Learn from real clients or companies in the same industry and ask them how the point of sale system is working out for them.

If you skip this step, you could miss chances to have valuable insights and comments from real customers. You need to collect feedback from actual clients to really know whether a POS vendor is suitable for you.
